Google Meet real-time speech translation now supports 63 languages across web and mobile.

Google says Gemini-powered speech translation can automatically detect the language being spoken and translate it into each listener’s preferred language. Participants control translation individually, and synchronized captions can accompany translated audio.

Important access details

An eligible Google Workspace or Google AI plan must organize the meeting. Base eligible plans receive up to 90 minutes of speech translation per meeting; higher-tier plans can receive longer limits. Regional, age and rollout restrictions apply. The feature is not available in recordings, live streams, dial-in, encrypted meetings or certain interoperability scenarios.

Rollout: Rapid Release rollout began October 22, 2026. Scheduled Release rollout begins November 2 and may take up to 15 days. Translation starts off by default for each participant.
